cete (n): a number of badgers together
1. An assortment of badgers
2. A number of badgers walking in the same direction, but not necessarily together.
3. A loosely formed organization of badgers with similar beliefs and ideals occupying the same relative geographic area.
4. A sort of loose brotherhood of badgers, grouped together by their badgerhood, you know, so they'll kind of say "hi" to one another with a little more gusto, but not to the point where if one generalizes about badgers, like, he says all badgers have big teeth, that that's not prejudice in their eyes.
5. Several badgers who commute on the same train, and therefore feel like they sort of, you know, are connected somehow, even though they have only had one conversation, which went like this:BADGER 1: Excuse me. Sorry.
BADGER 2: Oh. Oh. Sorry. Here, just let me –
BADGER 1: Okay. Thanks, sorry. Okay.
6. Multiple badgers who, years ago, in high school, were connected by the association of mutual friends, and therefore attended many of the same events, though they were never close, and so when one badger visits his home town, and is eating in a restaurant, he fails to notice at first that he is being served by a former classmate, and takes her overly warm greeting to be an attempt at a better tip, and then, after a momentary pause in which she does not return to the kitchen for his drink, glances up and is struck by the feeling that he really should know who this person is, in front of him, and for some reason he is suddenly nostalgic, and she, still smiling but obviously becoming slightly uncomfortable, says, "You have no idea who I am," at which point he does remember, and feels terrible about it, and apologizes profusely, and in the end gives a very generous tip, and feels a little sad for the next couple of days, thinking about how no one in his home town grew up with the feeling that they could really be anything, you know?
