As you may have noticed if you went to just about any site on the internet last week, April Fool's Day was last Wednesday. Hell, even we got in on the action, trading sites with a superhero. There's nothing wrong with prankery on April Fool's Day -- some of them are actually pretty good.
But most of them aren't, as evidenced by this Huffington Post post (man, that sounds weird) about the "best" April Fool's gags of the day. We'll just point out some of the stupidest:

Question: Shouldn't April Fool's jokes be, I don't know, funny? This one's just a bummer. Hey, everyone! Here's an not-too-exaggerated-to-believe fake news item about our failing automotive industry! Yuk it up, America!

Another question: How can a cable news network adopt a baby? Or have feelings and desires, for that matter? Couldn't you have at least made the story about somebody who works at FOX News? Shepard Smith, maybe?
And why would FOX, of all networks, want to be more like Madonna? Car and Driver's joke was too easy to believe; this one, nobody would believe for even a second.

Again, far too believable. This just looks like a regular news item. I mean, HuffPo wants them. I bet every other holier-than-thou blogger out there who likes the smell of his or her own farts wants them, too. Good business ideas aren't good April Fool's jokes, folks.
(Take note, ThinkGeek.)

Hahahaha! Take that, more-popular competitor! We're just going to draw more attention to your existence! That'll show you!

Here's a good post-mortem April Fools joke:
Recent studies show that Liberal and Conservative media figures aren't actually ridiculous caricatures of ideological fellatio and are, in fact logical well-meaning individuals...MoohoohuhahaHaaah! April Fools!
