by Doktor Maxwell von Puppykicker the Third
Who: The Master (as interpreted by John Simm)
What: Evil karaoke night
Where: Doctor Who
Why it's a great moment: Because it made evil fun again.
There's a question that every good supervillain must eventually face: what happens when you inevitably triumph over all that is good and just in the world? Let's say that, for the sake of argument, you've conquered the planet with floating death spheres, transformed your greatest enemy into an aged and infirm prisoner, and killed off one tenth of the earth's population (just for kicks of course). Where can you possibly go from there?
Well, if you're the Master, you use your newfound power to stage a choreographed dance routine to a Scissor Sisters song.
Evil isn't just about grand sweeping conquests and horrible abominations against God and man. It can also be small, petty, and, most importantly, wonderfully, gloriously camp. Now this being Doctor Who, the Masters plan was inevitably undone by a Deus Ex Machina out of fucking nowhere. But for one glorious, shining moment, The Master was sweatin' to the oldies on a scale that Richard Simmons can only dream of. And for that, The Master gets a big "thumbs up" from us.

(As an added bonus, this scene pissed off a lot of long-time Doctor Who fans, probably the most humorless group of people ever to walk the earth. So that's pretty neat too.)
Got a suggestion for one of villainy's greatest moments -- in comics, movies, books, TV, video games, whatever? Drop us a line at submissions@the-iss.com.

May I point out that Supervillain karaoke is nothing new - Mister Midnight went quite a lot further! Have a look at this - if you haven't seen it before you just ain't gonna believe it...
