Greetings from the other side of the Real Life Superhero/Villian dialogue:

Oh no. One of those people.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: For 20 years NADRA ENZI aka CAPT. BLACK has privately opposed crime and assisted the public as an obligation in print; on television and, in person as concerned citizen and security professional. Under his Capt. Black brand name Mr. Enzi offers an insider's view of a very unique community's contribution to personal growth:

Well, man, you didn't have to feel obligated. You really didn't.

Becoming a RLSH ( or whatever you call what we do since "real life superhero" comes from the media ) is a form of higher self-development.

Yeah, I hear ya. The media hates "heroes." They're always talking about how "heroes suck" this and "child hero is stupid" that.

This aspect is worth promoting while explaining ourselves to fellow concerned citizens very concerned about this approach.

But how do they feel about it?

Imagine me a shy kid who had big dreams but no big steam to realize them?

"No big steam?" That's a thing people say?

I followed this vision and the results are what you're now reading.

A terribly written e-mail?

Following this vision of privately fighting crime and helping people required action and not just day dreams. Action helps undo limitations by introducing them to present and future accomplishments. Higher self-development, as a societal norm, seems likely to reduce crime and increase giving if higher development produces more ethical behavior according to theory.

Well, I certainly don't need to see any scientific research to back that up. Thanks!

Among those doing what we do is an ongoing debate between "active do gooders " and "active crime fighters " to borrow phrases used in a conversation with Superman of the Sentinels and Earth Agents to describe these broad categories.

Ah yes, the great philosophers of our time.

Yes folks, the guy in the comic books isn't the only one with this name. Both crime fighting and doing good deeds are higher development in action and complement each other.

DC Comics might have something to say about that.

Assisting people in need demonstrates empathy, an evolved expression of emotional intelligence. Stepping outside oneself to address another's pain requires real growth and insight. Such growth and insight builds bridges between persons who otherwise may have had no contact. It can also inspire recipients to help someone themselves.

Yeah, but see, most people just donate to the Red Cross. You put on your mom's pantyhose and jump around on dumpsters.

The same holds true for crime fighting.

I'm gonna stop you right there.

Stopping destructive behavior requires active values and superior commitment. Preserving life and property firsthand means stepping boldly off life's proverbial bleachers and onto the playing field. Risking injury or death are bad enough. Adding possible law suits and arrest if your actions aren't well received makes free lance crime fighting a demonstration of selflessness on par with helping the public another way.

In real-life superhero code, "not well recieved" means "illegal."

What we do challenges mind, body and soul to make a bigger foot print in the world.

There's nothing that says "hero" more than a giant imprint of your foot.

Reaching within for names and missions that share our best selves are road maps for others to follow in their own way. Everyone obviously doesn't have to be a costumed activist or private crime stopper but everyone has potential awaiting better development. Our way is a creative self-development approach which Z, another colleague, would say is primordial. If humanity broadly includes percentages preying on others and those ( RLSH and equivalents who fight crime ) hunting them provides counter balance. In this role what we're developing is simply our basic God-given function.

Eat it, David Hume!

The world is full of frustrated people. If we do our job right, some of that frustration becomes realization through not only studying our example but becoming examples in their own right.

Yeah, I mean, I can imagine how people wouldn't be frustrated by you coming up to them while they're getting mugged and making things worse

I see RLSH as higher self-development because I know what this path does for me.

So...it's like the Hair Club for Men?

NADRA ENZI AKA CAPT. BLACK promotes crime prevention and self-development through his CRIME ISN'T A CIVIL RIGHT! presentation.

Are you serious.

Yeah, I'd say something snarky, but, well...his stupidity says it all.

It's because of people like this that I try doing my part in the world. By being an asshole. We must always have some counterbalance.

Sooo, in comic books, Superheroes fight crime but in real life they just write cheesy inspirational letters to the villains?

Boy am I glad I made the supervillain career choice. Those heroes are lame. I would probably feel pity for them, if I could feel "proper human emotions".

Man that guy has gone downhill since the mysterons shitcanned him

..What if that guy breeds?
